- Pepperoni and cheese pizza pocket with marinara sauce for dipping
- Cucumber and tomato slices

Here is a step-by-step explanation on how I created the pizza pockets.
The product list is pretty short today! Here are the tools I used when creating today's lunch:
My almost 7 year old son tries to be a "veggie-phobe". I make him eat them, but it is like pulling teeth! (I dont exactly subscribe to the theory of let them eat what they want.) It has always been eat what is on the table for us. How did you inspire your kids to embrace veggies?
ReplyDeleteMichele, thanks for your question. I have to admit, my girls are awesome veggie eaters so I really don't have an issue getting them to eat their veggies. However, my youngest (also 7) hasn't always been that way. I think by nature she would be a "junk food junkie". But, like you, we didn't subscribe to the theory of let them eat what they want and continued to expose her to healthy foods. I think between the constant exposure (I even take veggie sides to Fast food restaurants that don't provide them as an option), the expectation that she has to eat them, and having a big sister who is a great influence and has always loved her veggies, my youngest has become a great veggie eater. I also think the more they eat them, the more that palette grows to like them. It sounds like you are doing all the right things -- keep it up! :)
ReplyDeleteCaren -- did you have any trouble with the dough sticking to the pie press? I am going to try to make these tonight, but I've had trouble with that before....
ReplyDeleteWendy, I used the frozen bread dough (comes in a frozen dough ball that you thaw and roll out). I didn't have any trouble with it sticking. Good luck! Let me know how they turn out!
ReplyDeleteHave you done other types of pies like ham and cheese or something similar? I'm looking for cute ways too and I love this!
ReplyDeleteI just realized that there was a question here that I hadn't responded to. Sorry about that! Anyway, I have not tried other types of combinations yet. But, I think ham and cheese would be great!
