Earth Day

Very quick and easy lunch to celebrate Earth Day!

• Peanut butter/wheat Ritz crackers decorated to look like the Earth using food safe markers
• Broccoli with ranch decorated with daisy picks
• Strawberry slices and blueberries, decorated with letter picks
• Girl Scout cookie (Girl Scouts love the Earth!)

Simple Spring Lunch

As you may have guessed by my lack of posts, life as been busy (but fun!) the last few weeks.  I have been trying to knock out lots of projects at home during my slow time at work and before my kids are out of school for the summer.  Anyway, I've been going the "quick and easy" route when it comes to lunches.

• Peanut butter cracker sandwiches made with Ritz "Spring" crackers
• Green peas
• Vanilla yogurt with a strawberry heart
• Apple slices with a tulip apple

Mini Corn Muffins

Inspired by a recent post from my bento buddy, Keeley McQuire, I decided to make mini corn dog muffins for the girls' lunches.

Today my daughter had both violin lessons and music class so I made her a music themed lunch.

• Corn dog  mini muffins with music note picks and ketchup/mustard for dipping

Spring Time Salad

We're still feeling the sandwich rut so the girls had a salad as an alternative:

More Pizza Pockets

I'm still pulling pizza roll-ups out of the freezer for a quick and easy lunch.

Puppy Love

One of my daughter's friends suggested she bring a puppy themed lunch.  I'm always looking for ideas and inspiration, so I was happy to oblige.

• Broccoli with  dog bones picks  (Local friends, I bought these at Smidge and Pinch in Powell) and ranch

It's a Birthday kind of lunch!

As I mentioned before, my "baby" turned 8 this weekend.  Here is her lunch to celebrate her special day.

I generally don't "reinvent the wheel" and make my children different lunches.  So, the non-birthday girl got a similar sweet lunch:

• Red grapes with "Sweet" spelled out in letter picks

Happy 8th Birthday Baby!

My "baby" turns 8 tomorrow and we are celebrating with an indoor pool party!  She saw this cake on Pinterest one day and begged me to make it for her.  GULP!  I am FAR from a professional cake decorator and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make something comparable.   But, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I used the FunBites "Cube It" cutter to cut out the fondant squares to go around the pool.  It worked PERFECTLY!  Thanks FunBites...you're not just for sandwiches!!
